Opera Mini Beta for Android Now Version 5.1
Opera Mini Beta for Android has now ditched its Beta tag and has now moved to Opera Mini for Android v5.1 although if you have been used to using Opera Mini 5 for a while you probably won’t notice much difference in v5.1.
According to an article by Greg Kumparak, over on Mobile Crunch, Opera Mini 5.1 uses the same proxy powered compression to speed up browsing along with the same tabbed interface and same PC bookmark syncing.
What Opera Mini 5.1 for Android does bring is several minor tweaks and bug fixes while the only new feature in v5.1 is official supports for large displays such as on the Motorola Droid X and HTC EVO 4G smartphones.
Unfortunately with Opera Mini 5.1 it still lacks that all important feature, “multi-level multi-touch pinch/zoom” although it does support it in a way meaning that zooming is all or nothing, full zoom or not full zoom. Apparently though Opera Mini 5.1 for Android is lightning quick and a pleasure to use.
