Android Superphone Battery Test, Droid X Beats All

One of the big deals with any smartphone is just how long the battery will last, and in the past some devices haven’t faired too well in this area. But what about all those Android so called superphones out there such as the HTC Droid Incredible, Samsung Galaxy S variants such as the Epic 4G, Captivate and Vibrant, HTC EVO 4G, and the Droids, how well to they come out against each other?

Well we now know because according to an article over on Intomobile by Blake Stimac, the guys over at LaptopMag have done the business and put the hottest Android smartphone against one another in a battery life test.

Apparently the guys made sure it was a fair test by setting all of the Android devices to the same settings by using 2 free applications, My Settings and Advanced Task Killer, and you can find out how they did it by hitting up their website.

What they found was, that Android devices packing AMOLED displays came out the worst performers, and also the Super AMOLED also doesn’t help battery life much, although the Samsung Epic 4G and HTC EVO 4G came out in the middle of the pack.

However when it comes to the top Android performers in battery life the number one slot goes to the Motorola Droid X beating all others and delivering 7 hours and 35 minutes, followed by the Dell Streak and then the Droid 2. Thus the Droid X takes the Android battery life crown.

The galaxy s has a removable back that means you can just replace spare batteries- this was always the reason nokia used to do this with their pre-touch smartphones and makes the whole issue less significant. That is unless youve bought a phone where you can’t replace the battery easily!
