Apple Guru Steve Jobs Takes Sick Leave
Perhaps the hectic world of mobile technology is taking its toll on the big guy at Apple as apparently Steve Jobs is taking medical leave for the foreseeable future so the Apple CEO can “focus” on his health.
According to an article over on Engadget by Vlad Savov, Mr. Jobs announced his leave of absence to Apple employees via email, which stated…
“Team,
At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health. I will continue as CEO and be involved in major strategic decisions for the company.
I have asked Tim Cook to be responsible for all of Apple’s day to day operations. I have great confidence that Tim and the rest of the executive management team will do a terrific job executing the exciting plans we have in place for 2011.
I love Apple so much and hope to be back as soon as I can. In the meantime, my family and I would deeply appreciate respect for our privacy.
Steve”
However, the iPhone guru will retain his position as CEO of Apple and will continue to be involved in major decisions while Tim Cook steps into Jobs’ role while he is away. No word on how long Steve will be on medical leave for.

Get well soon Steve. We need you because you have changed the landscape of IT and directly and indirectly led the wave of innovation.I am a fan of Steve. You are a fighter.I know you will be back with big smile
While it would be wonderful is Steve returned I really don't think it's in the cards. Doesn't matter though as he has done enough to transform technology and Apple. Few people are ever imbued with this type of vision. Market cap and stock price be damned, what's really important is health and your family. Good luck
