BlackBerry Outage Sufferers to get Compensation Apps
If you are one of the BlackBerry faithful out there who has suffered from the recent BlackBerry outage issue, of which there are many, and were expecting a little cash compensation from Research In Motion for failing to deliver the service, it looks like you are right out of luck as RIM has other plans for compensating users.
According to the guys over at Slash Gear, by way of RIM, the company has now announced that BlackBerry outage sufferers will be compensated with free premium applications to the value of one hundred bucks.
The Canadian company is to offer the victims of the outage a bundle of twelve BlackBerry apps via BlackBerry App World over the coming weeks and will continue to be available until the 31st of December 2011.
RIM co-CEO Mike Lazaridis says, “We are grateful to our loyal BlackBerry customers for their patience. We have apologized to our customers and we will work tirelessly to restore their confidence. We are taking immediate and aggressive steps to help prevent something like this from happening again.”
Apparently current Enterprise customers will be offered a month of free tech support, while those customers that do not already have a tech support contract will be offered a 1 month trial of “BlackBerry Technical Support Services — Enhanced Support, free of charge.”
So, that bundle of compensation premium BlackBerry apps is as follows…SIMS 3 — Bejeweled – N. O.V.A — Texas Hold’em Poker 2 — Bubble Bash 2 — Photo Editor Ultimate — Shazam Encore — Vlingo Plus: Virtual Assistant — Nobex Radio Premium — DriveSafe.ly Pro — Drive Safe.ly Enterprise — and iSpeech Translator Pro.
So there you have it, the compensation apps pack for those people who suffered during the BlackBerry outage, but is this offer from Research In Motion enough to appease the anger of those BlackBerry customers, or will this latest outage see some of the BlackBerry faithful jumping ship in favour of iOS and Android?

I’m a Blackberry Customer that has lost connection for the few days it was not working. My questions is HOW do I get these compensation apps, In my phone’s appworld it still asks for credit card / paypal details?
Yes. I do deserve that. I experience some problems with blackberry site just recently that was supposed to give some free software installation.
There was a problem with blackberry. the unlimited surfing is not that reliable. Sometimes the site is out of service.Â
I’ve never been one for alarm applications on my BlackBerry smartphone – I’ve had the same old alarm clock for almost a decade. Maybe that’s why it’s so easy to hit snooze or turn off.
Yes, just recently I experience issues with Blackberry. I hope this will not stay long or else switch to another phone.Â
An
“extremely critical issue” on the BlackBerry network caused the
outage, Stephen Bates, RIM’s managing director in the U.K., told CNN’s
Richard Quest. He added: “We’re putting all of our focus with all of our
engineers and all of our network specialists on trying to understand the
nature of why this backup system didn’t work as it should have …” I hope this won’t last long.Â
Blackberry
users experienced outage last month and it just made them infuriated. Hope
this won’t happen again.
So many blackberry users, including me was devastated with the incident of their online outage. Hope this will not happen again.
Last October Blackberry outage spread throughout US, Canada and Middle East and lasted for 3 long days.Â
Just recently blackberry experienced another huge blackout that infuriated the surfers.Â
They must make other applications free because of the fuss they created during their outage.
Hope this outage won’t happen again. I experienced problems in blackberry because of this.
