I’m sure everyone knows Nokia World is the Finnish company’s single biggest event, with Nokia World 2011 being held in London last year, where they introduced the Nokia Lumia range of Windows Phone handsets. However this year it appears there will be a few changes when it comes to Nokia World 2012.

According to an article over on Neowin, Nokia previously announced that Nokia World 2012 would be held on their home turf, in Helsinki on the 25th and 26th of September; however word is that date has now changed, as according to Nokia Conversations, Nokia World 2012 has been brought forward, and as such Nokia will kick off the event in Helsinki on the 5th and 6th of September.

Now, usually Nokia World is one big event, but this time round that changes as well, as word is Nokia is forgoing a single event in favour of a series of smaller events. The reason for switching to the smaller events rather than one large one is that the smaller events will be more intimate, and will apparently be catered with ‘a specific audience in mind.’

The first of those smaller Nokia World 2012 events will apparently be by invitation only and is primarily for Nokia’s retail and operator partners.

Other than that, more information concerning Nokia World 2012 and those smaller events will be announced by Nokia over the coming weeks.

So there you have it, Nokia is going with a new format, and has pulled their Nokia World 2012 event forward, but one has to wonder if the smaller format will work for Nokia, more as and when we hear.
