European Union approves Motorola, Sony Ericsson deal
Motorola is just about ready to take a 50% stake of Sony Ericsson’s mobile OS, UIQ, they want to become half-vested partners in Sony Ericsson’s UI Holdings BV, UIQ Technology AB’s parent company.The final obstacle was the approval of the EU and now they have given the go ahead, so Motorola can now buy into UI Holdings which should see innovative mobile offerings from the newly formed partnership. So we’ll just have to patiently wait to see what Motorola and Sony Ericsson can come up with in 2008
