Motorola has finally settled their patient dispute with Metrologic Instruments which has been ongoing since 2002. This settlement will now allow Motorola a clean slate so they can launch their 20-20 new mobile handsets this year.
The patient dispute was over mobile computing technologies and barcode scanning, but now both companies have agreed on a cross-licensing deal which should bring legal peace to both sides so they can concentrate on new models and making money once again.
