Do we really need mobile phones doubling as a bus ticket in NE of England

In North-East of England bus passengers will get the chance of a new service where they can pay for their bus fare using their mobile phones, but do we really need mobile phones doubling as a bus ticket in North-East of England?

The North-East of England has the biggest bus operator service so they have decided to launch a brand new service called ‘txt2go’.

Starting this week bus passengers will be able to receive a digital bus ticket to their mobile phone in just a matter of minutes after getting it by text message, the display on your phone will then show the ticket information, and this information can then be shown to your bus driver.

You can get all this by sending a text to 60060; the tickets will then be locked to the mobile phone it was ordered from. If you wish to use the ‘txt2go’ all you need to do is set up an online account using the Go North East’s website which is secure, money can be added to the account using either debit card or credit card and then the cost of the txt2go ticket will then automatically be taken from the account.
