Popular opinion combined with insider reports indicate a mid-08 release for the 3G iPhone. Richard Gardner Citigroup analyst has hinted that it could be in the same area or even earlier! 

Gardner visited Taiwan where he took in Taiwanese electronics companies, and claims sources indicate a second-gen 3G iPhone is on track for a Q2 08 release. With this new revised launch window it leads one to believe we could be seeing the 3G iphone somewhere in-between April and June.

Should this launch date turn out to be factual the release of the 3G iPhone could possibly out-pace AT&T’s ideas to expand their 3G network to 350 fresh markets within the States.
