We have some fantastic news that we found via Android Community about the stunning reveal of the latest Android build running on the fresh HTC-sourced hardware at I/O today.
Big boys Google were there to take on board some of your questions which actually revealed a few extra tit bits from the bag, the most important part that sticks out are the key specifications of that sexy piece of kit that were exposed, they are as follows: Qualcomm MSM7201A processor good for 528MHz plus on board is 3.6Mbps HSDPA, 256MB of ROM, 128MB of RAM and a capacitive touchscreen, so far so good boys. Ok despite the fact of capacitive action it was said that Android is obviously designed to work with many a wide variety of form factors from QWERTY keypads to touchscreens right down to devices with no screen at all. So does this mean fans of physical input methods need not worry? Well of course not.
Other features revealed for the first time are that of a configurable home screen launcher, Google Maps’ Street View, accelerometer integration and Pacman which at a guess can assume it will become the Solitaire of Android and of course unlock the UI for touchscreen-based devices. Below you can watch two videos with more explanations of the above and more. Roll on Android, everything seems to be pretty good so far and we say more will come.
