Over 10,000 HTC Touch Diamond handsets have already been shipped by High Tech Computer, all are destined for Hong Kong CSL according to sources within the market, and this contradicts the rumours that HTC was going to delay any shipment until June.
HTC are also eventually going to begin deliveries to European telecom service providers as well as telecom service providers in other Asia Pacific markets sometime in June announced a source who is familiar with HTC’s roadmap.
Having just launched the first model in the HTC Touch Diamond range, HTC also just recently unveiled a second version, that being codenamed Raphael, in Germany, the HTC Raphael differs from the HTC Touch Diamond by the addition of a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
T-Mobile and HTC are to cooperate with a view to market both the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Raphael models in Germany, with the HTC Touch Diamond to be the first available under T-Mobile’s MDA Compact IV trade name, while the second model, the HTC Raphael will be available under MDA Vario IV.
Further details or other shipping schedules have not been made available at this time, and it looks as though North America has been left out in the cold on this one, though who knows maybe HTC will eventually get round to shipping the HTC Touch Diamond stateside some day.
