US gains the Apple iPhone 3G as of July 11th via AT&T
Apple and AT&T have announced the arrival of the Apple iPhone 3G is scheduled for July 11th in the United States of America. The Apple iPhone 3G offers revolutionary features of the original iPhone with the addition of 3G networking so is twice as fast as the first generation Apple iPhone handset. Other additional features include GPS for location based mobile services, along with iPhone 2.0 software which brings Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and an abundance of other developments already built by the SDK.
President and CEO of AT&T Mobility, Ralph de la Vega said of the Apple iPhone 3G: “We’re offering the most advanced mobile device ever on the nation’s most advanced high speed network. We think iPhone 3G is an amazing mobile device and our customers are going to love using iPhone 3G to make calls, send emails and surf the web even faster.”
Apple’s COO, Tim Cook said of AT&T is acquiring the Apple iPhone 3G: “We’re thrilled to continue working with the largest wireless carrier in the US to bring iPhone 3G to AT&T customers this July. iPhone 3G is a revolutionary product and we can’t wait for customers to get their hands on it.”
The broad and powerful 3G mobile broadband network offered by AT&T offers 3G mobile phone downloads speeds of up to 1.4Mbps, with AT&T’s current 3G network being available in excess of 275 leading US metropolitan areas.
The Apple iPhone 3G will be available from AT&T with a price of $199.00 for the 8GB and the 16GB costing $299.00 at both AT&T and Apple outlets and will require the signing of a two year contract. Furthermore, AT&T will also be selling the Apple iPhone 3G via its direct business sales team.
