The LG Dare over on Verizon Wireless is on sale right now for $199.99, we will chat about that in a moment. Is this the phone that you will buy rather than the iPhone and Samsung Instinct? Sprint has the Samsung Instinct, AT&T has the Apple iPhone and now Verizon Wireless has the LG Dare, we are talking state side here people. Ok in the title we said “iPhone, Instinct beware”, personally we do not think these mobile phones have anything to worry about.
The LG Dare is a very good mobile phone indeed with a 3.2-megapixel camera and high-quality video recording, it has a pretty big 3-inch, 240-by-400, 262k-color touchscreen, you must all remember that the LG Dare is not trying to be a smartphone because it is NOT a smartphone, it is running on a modified OS that is similar to Verizon’s LG Voyager. The main feature and of course the main selling point for the Dare is the camera we would have to say and according to Verizon, the Dare records 640-by-480 video at up to 120 frames per second, which is something special in the U.S, a cool 3.2-megapixel camera with a Schneider-Kreuznach lens. The Dare has the same accelerometer like the iPhone which changes the orientation of the display when you tilt the phone, and is finger friendly thanks to the UI, you must all remember that the touchscreen is NOT multi-touch but is still pretty responsive.
The LG Dare is a cool 3G phone that should be strongly considered and is on the Verizon’s EVDO network, it offers cool features such as GPS, SMS, MMS, Verizon’s new Mobile E-mail client, stereo and Bluetooth support plus streams videos from Verizon’s V CAST service. There is a slight downside however and that is the browser, it is pretty mediocre on the grand scale of things considering many phones have very good web browsers, the LG Dare web browser is relatively slow to render pages.
Anyway you can learn more over at Verizon Wireless where they have it on sale right now for $199.99 with a $50 mail-in rebate and two-year contract, yes we know that is the same price as the Apple iPhone 3G, but it is $70 more than Sprint’s Instinct. You can buy one right now on Verizon Wireless
