Apple has announced what everyone wants to hear and that is first class service, they want you to be at the right place with the service you deserve.
They are offering all customers the chance to get the Apple iPhone 3G with a first class concierge service to boot, the service will include the door being opened for you when you enter and leave the stores.
Staff at these stores will be wearing orange shirts directing you to the iPhone corral on Friday morning 8am, there will be set-up assistants willing to help you activate your new iPhone 3G, they guarantee activation of your new phone with 10 to 15 minutes, and all this is done at the store.
You will need to take ID and SS with you, they will also help you choose one of AT&T’s iPhone only plans, this promises to allow you to make calls and browse the web before you leave the store.
Ron Johnson, Apple’s Retail Chief told Bloomberg in an interview, they expect “that in 10 to 15 minutes, you’ll be set up and ready to go.” Johnson also said he expects each of the company’s 185 retail stores in the U.S. to handle about 100 customers an hour. Though he assured users won’t feel rushed: “we’ll spend as long as it takes with our customers to make sure they’re happy with the phone.”
You must remember they are promising to get you fully activated within 10 to 15 minutes, and that is of course there are enough phones for you to get one, they are NOT promising you will get an iPhone 3G within 10 to 15 minutes.
