Ministry of Social Development, Gen-i and Vodafone New Zealand Join Forces
Gen-i and Vodafone New Zealand have entered into an agreement with the Ministry of Social Development to supply its telecommunications services.
According to the new agreement Gen-i being a systems integrator part of the Telecom New Zealand Group will be providing the Ministry’s voice and data tech while Vodafone supplies the mobile communications.
This new agreement is to represent a reduction in the Ministry’s telecommunications spend but still introducing new technologies which will benefit via its service delivery to clients and offer improved business functionality which will be introduced throughout the Ministry.
Tim Occleshaw, Chief Information Officer says… “Through the tender process, the Ministry sought solutions that best leverage technology to meet our existing and future business requirements. The successful tenderers put forward the most suitable and cost effective solutions for the Ministry. The Ministry enjoys a good relationship with TelstraClear and has benefited over the past 13 years from the telecommunications infrastructure that TelstraClear has provided.”
The aforementioned agreement was signed following an open tender undertaken by the Ministry as part of their commitment to competition and fairness in the market.
