Steve Jobs App Store with 500 iPhone Applications, quarter are free
Steve Jobs from Apple is launching the App Store with around 500 iPhone applications which is good, but even better is quarter off the apps are free, yes 25% are free.
Steve Jobs said to USA Today that the all new App Store will launch with over 500 applications Thursday night for the iPod Touch and Apple iPhone.
Now not to sure who does the adding up here but hey this is what they have said, 25 percent of applications will be free and 90 percent will be for sale at around $9.99 or less.
Steve Jobs said that this is the biggest launch of his career and Analyst Tim Bajarin at Creative Strategies said in short that when IBM introduced the PC, it was good, but it did not really take of did it until people started to discover the software.
It is these apps that will dramatically differentiate the iPhone from BlackBerrys and Treos, many of us consumers were so focused on the launch of the Apple iPhone 3G but people must know that not the iPhone but the App Store is what had the analysts in such a tizzy.
Another new update in which The New York Times reports is that 1/3 of all first-wave applications will be games.
