Apple has just announced that they have sold their one millionth iPhone, which is outstanding considering it only went on sale 3 days ago.
Many optimists and street analysts had many speculations running through their minds, you know the people who want the device to be a failure, well this goes out to you. Apple and its partners sold one million iPhone 3G devices over the weekend.
Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs said “iPhone 3G had a stunning opening weekend,” “It took 74 days to sell the first one million original iPhones, so the new iPhone 3G is clearly off to a great start around the world.”
If you divided this equally over the 22 countries that the iPhone 3G was selling in, it works out each territory managed an average of 45,455 units sold.
Apple also said that they have seen well over 10 million applications downloaded from the all new App Store over the weekend as well (Yes myself included). “The App Store is a grand slam, with a staggering 10 million applications downloaded in just three days,” said Jobs.
One million iPhone 3G’s sold in 3 days and 10 million applications downloaded is staggering, to tell you the truth god knows how they achieved this considering Friday 11th was a complete shamble for many, you know activation systems messing up, iPhone 2.0 messing up peoples current iPhone.
Got to say though “Hats of to Apple”
