The Zeemote is still waiting to enter retail channels, but while they do, apparently Gameloft has now come aboard, which is staggering news for the developer of the mobile analogue joystick.
Mobile Games Blog reports, that Gonzague de Vallois of Gameloft has said: “The Zeemote JS1 Controller brings an intuitive and innovative experience to players. We believe the Zeemote controller, combined with high quality Gameloft games is a perfect match for customers who will have a strong motivation to download and enjoy more and more mobile games.”
Zeemote Ready kits have already been shipped to participating developers and include testing criteria documents for Zeemote Ready applications, a style guide and submission forms.
CEO of Zeemote, Beth Marcus says: “The industry support has been overwhelming and we are very proud of the fact that nearly every one of the top 15 mobile games publishers has committed to creating games compatible with the Zeemote JS1 Controller. As we prepare for commercial launch, first in Europe then followed by North America and Asia in 2009, we have not only content creators, but also operators, handset manufacturers and OEMs — all backing our product.”
