The Apple iPhone 3G just got cheaper in Japan as Softbank, the official Japanese partner to Apple’s iPhone 3G dramatically reduced monthly tariffs.
Japan gained the Apple iPhone 3G on the same day as the UK, July 11th, so this prince drop by Softbank comes not even a month after the iPhone 3G’s launch.
The good news for the Japanese iPhoners is Softbank has reduced the price of the Apple iPhone 3G by more than 50 percent.
Softbank’s chopped down tariff prices for the monthly contract cost on the Apple iPhone 3G is slashed to 2990 yen, that’s believe it or not just £14.00, from the original price of 7280 yen, which is about £34.50, and data charges have been reduced as well.
So why these dramatic cuts? Softbank says it’s to attract more people to use the iPhone rather than being done because of sad sales, which has been predicted in the past as Japan already has more advanced mobile phones than the Apple iPhone 3G.
