Seems anyone can enter the mobile arena these days and just to show that the newest company to step into the mobile waters is Ikea; yep you heard right, the Swedish company famous for their flat-packed furniture is offering a mobile phone service.
Ikea UK has launched a MVNO on T-Mobile to compete with the likes of ASDA and Tesco. Maybe with the addition of Ikea, the superstore will begin a mobile phone price war, which is always good for the customer who wants to grab a cheap second phone.
Ikea is offering a cheap and cheerful prepaid service which users will need to put out an initial £10.00 investment.
So although you shouldn’t be expecting a self assembly mobile phone kit all neatly flat-packed in bubble wrap like their furniture, don’t go expecting high end mobile phones, as we expect their mobile handset will be fairly basic fare.
