The latest whisper running around is that Rogers could be launching Research In Motion’s push emailing BlackBerry Bold 9000 on 19th August. RIM’s BlackBerry Bold has already launched in Austria, Germany and Chile however a North American release is rumoured to be still a few weeks away.
The BlackBerry Bold 9000 is Research In Motion’s first 3G smartphone and thus represents a new age dawning for the BlackBerry name.
The BlackBerry Bold is a sleeker more consumer orientated mobile phone, sporting a cool crisp 480 x 320 display while running on the new BlackBerry OS 4.6 UI.
RIM’s BlackBerry Bold 9000 is quad-band 850/900/1800/1900Mhz GPRS/EDGE, tri-band 850/1900/2100Mhz UMTS/HSDPA (3G), and offers a 2 megapixel camera with flash, Bluetooth 2.0, side loading memory slot and 1GB onboard memory, WiFi, GPS, BlackBerry Media Sync, 3.5mm headphone jack, up to 5 hours GSM talk time and up to 13 days standby time.
