A leader within the digital world, comScore Inc, has reported that after a slow start, the United States has caught up with Europe in the adoption of 3G. American mobile phone subscribers having a 3G mobile handset now stands at 28.9 percent.
Senior vice president and senior analyst, comScore, Mark Donovan, said: “For years, the American mobile industry has aspired to the level of sophistication of the European market. Today, Americans have finally caught up with Europeans in adoption of 3G. The advancements in 3G network technology and the introduction of sleek devices into the U.S. market have paid off as adoption of mobile media continues to grow at a rapid pace.”
U.S. subscribers to 3G enabled handsets have grown to 64.2 million during the past year.
