MTS, Russia’s number one mobile phone operator has signed a deal with Apple to sell the Apple iPhone 3G in Russia.

MTS is the last of Russia’s “big three” to announced the Apple iPhone 3G distribution deal, but has note provided any details.

This announcement comes from MTS after MegaFon and VimpelCom also struck distribution deals with Apple. Both VimpelCom and MegaFon have said they will be selling the iPhone, while MTS has not yet specified which iPhone model it will sell.

Apple iPhone are not yet officially available in Russia but through the countries “grey market” it is estimated there are around 500,000 in use.
