O2 seems to have something very special for all you subway commuters in Glasgow; yes you will be able to use mobile phones in Glasgow’s subway networks.
For the first time in the UK O2 are the ones who will allow you to make calls and send text messages from five subway platforms. The new system called multi-user distributed antenna system.
They are hoping this will be very successful and if so will roll out this service at London Underground stations. The five stations in Glasgow will be Buchanan Street, St Enoch, Kelvinbridge, Hillhead and Partick stations and will be running from December.
Derek McManus, Chief technology officer said
“This new technology will enable customers to make calls, send and receive text messages and access a host of data services while on the subway platform.”
