AT&T has announced they have deployed assisted GPS tech (A-GPS) within its network to enhance existing and planned location based services used with aGPS devices.

Also AT&T further announced it is to launch 2 new navigation apps in the next few weeks, MapQuest Navigator along with AAA Mobile navigator. These new apps are new additions to the existing AT&T Navigator and AT&T Navigator Global Edition.

This deployment of the A-GPS will prime the AT&T network for more expansion this year into the LBS category, and will include launches of location enabled social networking and family orientated services.
