The new Vodafone radio commercial that advertises a package for unlimited text messages, calls and internet access has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority, this was after a listener complained to them that the 8 second ending of the terms and conditions were read out so fast that she was unable to understand them.
The ASA agreed with the listener and has ordered Vodafone to drop the commercial in its present form, as it was impossible to understand. It took 8 seconds for the 30-word disclaimer.
The radio advert was defended by Vodafone who said the female actor’s voice had not been speeded up and was no faster than in similar ads.
