Apple Nokia and Google prime sophisticated location apps for launch
More and more people are using the modern mobile phone for mapping and driving directions and global positioning systems, therefore Apple, Nokia and Google are priming very sophisticated location based apps for launch.
Executive vice president of the services and software unit for Nokia, Niklas Savander, who refers to the advanced services as the contextual web, says: “Mobile adds this additional dimension of who the user is, where he is and where he will be,” he explains. “It’s the digital and real world meeting.”
Google’s Android mobile platform for one example will be able to tap user’s location to automatically update weather forecasts and identify lower book priced in the users area, these feature are not yet available on US mobile phones.
