Retail chain Dick Smith Electronics store in Cairn, Queensland, Australia, appears to be in a little hot water with authorities after allegations from a university student customer said the mobile phone she purchased from the store contained pornographic photos.

The student was said to be “shocked and disgusted” when she discovered 49 photos, many of them of an explicit nature, on her newly bought mobile phones.

According to a Dick Smith spokesperson the Samsung mobile handset was a display model, and was sold as it was the last handset in stock.

The pornographic photos where apparently of a female worker in the store. The company has declined to comment on whether it will provide compensation for the university student.
