Google has announced a new version of Google Maps for Mobile which includes support of Street View. Street View gives Google Maps a driver’s eye view of the world, and now actual people on the streets will be able to use it too.
The new version of Google Map for Mobile works with BlackBerrys with colour screens and mobile phones equipped with Java. Unfortunately as present it does not work on the Apple iPhone, and if iPhoners visit the Google site via the iPhone they see a message “Sorry, Google Maps does not work on your Apple iPhone.”
Google originally demonstrated the Google Street View on their Android OS back in May, and there is now a Street View explanatory video below. Can’t help thinking that Google is losing out by not making Street Maps for use on the Apple iPhone though.
