Looks like Mozilla is planning to enter the mobile arena by developing a Mozilla browser for mobile phones and hope to release by 2010. Chairman of the Mozilla Foundation, Mitchell Baker, has been laying out plans for the organisation to cover the next two years.
These plans include “developing an effective browser for the mobile market, making more internet data public and developing existing products to be more effective.”
Baker stated on her blog: “There are also other broader goals that Mozilla might take on. Proposals to date include education, open source evangelism in general; open everything, assisting online communities with participatory tools.”
Mozilla has previously stated they are working on a mobile version of Firefox but hasn’t stated a time for release, and Mozilla have said they do not release software until it is ready.
