According to Palm’s results conference call last week, Palm may not have a complete mobile phone based on their new OS until several months into 2009.
Although Palm still says they are on track to complete their next generation “Nova” mobile OS by the end of this year, they now give a larger window which extends into 2009, and hints at a release possibly as late as June.
The cause of this possible delay is unknown at present, and the new Nova software should replace the old Palm OS but has become unusually complex due to the switch to Linux.
