Amazon will be behind the T-Mobile G1’s music download store, the news was officially announced yesterday, Amazon will allow the user to search for and download their favourite tracks or albums and them purchase and play all from the T-Mobile G1.
Amazon will offer over six million tracks, in basic MP3 format not with DRM. When you buy your G1 android phone it will be pre-loaded with Amazon and the screen will be optimized for the mobile display. You will be able to search and listen to audio samples over 3G but it’s the WiFi connection you use to download the tracks.
As for the price of downloads, most albums will cost anywhere between $5.99 and $9.99, and a single track will cost about $0.89. The T-Mobile G1 will also have YouTube, GoogleMaps with StreetView and lots more on offer.
