First stable Android 1.0 SDK has been released by Google

Just after thee first Google Android mobile phone is revealed Google has released the Android 1.0 software development kit, and is the first stable release of an Android SDK and apps developed with it will work of the T-Mobile G1 once it’s released.

Representatives from the Open Handset Alliance said the release of the OS code is expected by the end of the year. The open-source OS is based on a Linux 2.6.25 kernel, and there’s a Dalvik virtual machine to run Java applications.

This Android SDK 1.0 includes a standalone emulator which allows developers to interact with the operating system of the new G1.
