register soon as posible
I started using a Lycamobile PAYG card in Holland and had no problems for four years. However I recently visited Austria and unknow to me the SIM decided to enable roaming. Fortunately I made no cals while there, and I have the data connection over the SIM turned off permanently.
But when I got back to the Netherlands I found that roaming is still enabled, and there is no (obvious) way to turn it off. If I were to make calls now I would no longer get the cheap rate for which I chose Lyca. A call within the Netherlands would now cost 28cents/minute.
The Web site is useless (has anyone nopticed the catch-22 in the impossible to use instructions on re-setting your language?). I have tried calling the Support number, but I cannot wait forever for someone to get around to answering. Perhaps someone will reply to my eMail?
i like to register my sim card
Lyca mobile UK web site is dead.
Still useless. I've wasted 90 minutes trying to register the free SIM they sent me so I can top up online and their website simply won't do it for me. Their SIM card has now gone through the shredder and I'll stick with Vodafone.
Why not considering renting from Cellhire. As well as a general international SIM card, they also rent local SIM cards for a large number of countries saving up to 70% on roaming costs.
You should try webtel.mobi – much cheaper and no sim
Your service is good, why not go on pay monthly bases.I need U on contract, thanks.
why is the free credit stoped?
lycmobile is cheating and telling lies to the people i have lycmobile and they changed the rate without telling anyone and they cancel the offer without telling anyone and when i called the Customer services to complain they put me on hold for more than 16 min and then hung up the phone without saying anything
I had the bad idea to move to Lyca 10 days ago and today I am already moving back to my old company!! Bad reception, very rude and incompetent customer service, messages sometimes arrive a day later! very poor service overall, think about it twice and carefully.
completely agree ….worse customer service ever….they dont have a clue what they are talking about……i ported my number with them….the sim card stoped working i could recieve call but not make any…..could not get my PAC code back…….and now they cant even locate my details….so i lost my number 07928282863………
New user to Lycamobile to reduce international cost to the West Indies
Looking forward to reduce cost of calls
very very very very rude and incompetent customer service, messages sometimes arrive a day later! very poor service overall, think about it twice and carefully.
rubbish network , very rubbish customer service
Charged totally wrong rates when roaming in Turkey. Refunded difference fine 1st time. Told to contact them again if it continued. It has!Since then 2 phone calls and 1 email and still no refunds. Can not recommend as customer service and billing is poor.
Thank God I didn’t immediately transfer my O2 number to Lyca. This Lycamobile is rubbish. I was using an O2 your country PAYG sim which I load £30/month to get 200min free international calls to more than 200 countries. Then I tried the Lyca sim. I loaded the Lyca sim (bought from 99P store) with £20. I was attracted by their flat rate of 10p/10p call/text rates to my country and free call/text to another Lyca mobile which my wife is also using here in UK. They always cut my call after less than 2 minutes and when I try to call again to any number the network is already busy with chance to call or ven text at all. Tried calling their customer service number many times but I only wasted time, it’s either the netwrok is busy or nobody answers. I’m not surprised actually how bad the customer service is knowing that Lyca is using the Orange network and is probably owned by Orange group. Two years ago, I moved from Orange monthly paid subscriber to O2 PAYG Your Country Sim because of very bad experience with Orange despite of the fact that I was paying direct debit like £80 per month for all my calls. This Lyca Mobile is so ambitious to get the most number of ethnic subscribers in UK and yet the service and signal coverage are rubbish. Now I have to try the Lebara and Nomi sims if they have the same. My wife is just waiting to use all her Lyca load and will also try the Lebara or Nomi sim. Stay away from this rubbish Lyca company. They are a waste of money and time with worst netwrok availability, customer sevice and signal coverage.

Update from June 11th. Back in Turkey. Even worse now. Again incorrectly charged to make calls. Receiving calls is costing roughly 3 times what is advetised. Cannot call customer service on advertised 322 number, so used 0207 132 0322 as have done before which was free. This wiped out my remaining balance at a rate of over £1 per minute!!! So now can not phone customer service free to request refund due to their utterly rubbish billing system. As soon as I’m back in the UK I will BIN THIS SIM.
Tried to order two SIM cards but the website defeated me … The page at
https://lycamobileeshop.co.uk/web/WebFreeSimRegUK.aspx
would not allow me to add my flat address correctly. My post code is XY3 5AB and this lists about 5 versions of:
311,High Street
311,High Street
311,High Street
311,High Street
311,High Street
for a block of 36 flats!!!
And the system insisted that I choose one of these – but not which one??? In fact none of these are correct. In a block of 36 flats it is essential to include the flat no. and the name of the block – for obvious reasons. But the form would not allow me to do that.
This simple ‘bug’ with sales web site appears indicative of the Lycamobile service in general.
Worst Customer Service EVER!!! My friend, a lycamobile customer, was stranded in Rome after her credit card was stolen and was of course out of $ on her phone after dealing with the bank. I have been trying to add money to her sim with my credit card for the last few hours. They will not take it because it’s a different address, told me to try online- she apparently needs to upgrade and so therefor the website will not allow it either. I’ve been hung up on (auto answer system), disconnected and now am “waiting”for a supervisor. Good luck!! My opinion- not worth the hassel!!
customer service terrible. i’m not a customer but have had fraud debits on my account. they don’t call back or sort it out
Worse customer service ever –i changed my number from 02 took them about 3 weeks had to call them many times and kept on giving me a different time until I spoke to a supervisor. once the number is transferred, i cant make any calls not even to customer services or top up but can receive calls and texts. Called them from another phone at list 5 times and emailed a few times as well (don't replay back to their emails). Made the last call in February asking for my PAC code and the agent guaranteed me it will be sorted with in three days and said it will take three days to generate the code (02 done it instantly) so he suggested me to wait and stay with them—-to this date nothing has changed —i did not call them as it cost me money and WASTE MY TIME.
THEY ARE BUNCH OF LAIRS —HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE—-MY HONEST ADVICE >>STAY AWAY FROM THEM
Lycamobile cheating adverting posts!!! Becarefull!
I bought a £10 of Lycamobile yesterday (23 April 2010) becuase I saw a big post at top of a shop window says buy £10 get £6 free calls. When I loaded the £10 credit on my sim, I found there is no £6 free calls, only £10. So I call Lycamobile, they said to me that the offer was ended on March 2010 (this conidtion is wrirtten in very small print at the post, because the post is at top of shop windows, none can read this small prints.
1. First of all, if Lycamobile know the offers are ended, they should take the posts off from the shop, at the end date. Otherwise is cheating.
I have report this case to Ofcom and local council fair trade office, and proper to take legal action agaist Lycamobile.
If anyone has experince as me do the same.
Lycamobile cheating adverting posts!!! Becarefull!
2. Another problem of Lycamobile is they give large amount of free calls, such as buy £20 get £50 free. But they hidden a key fact: the free calls will ended any time Lycamobile wanted. For example I bought a £20 credit on 1 April 2010, They said they will give me £20 free calls, but the free calls will be ended within 30 days. Also they said calls between Lycamobile plus owners are free (on 1 April 2010), now they ended this offer. This is also a cheating adverting, if they offer buyers something, the offer must last at least the £20 card is over. If they can ended the offer at any time, then they can say buy £1 credit, you will get £100 free calls, but after 3 days they ended the offer, what the buyer will get?

Lycamobile just stay away from them. There customer services department is a total disgrace. I had issues trying to leave them and kept demanding a pac code off them which it took them nearly two months with every excuse under the sun. They talk to there customers like muck and dont give a dam. They cut you off and tell you lies. What concerned me was last four calls to them they told me to call another number who would help which was actually ofcom. They where giving ofcom number when i just wanted a pac to leave. Stay stay away from this company or you will
Indeed regret it.
I am Lycamobile user, my mum and friends also. I ve never had problem with it. Always wroks fine. Network and txts are coming on time. Some of you are sayig: they change the promotion without telling which is not true. if next time you will read Terms and Conditions you will see valid date!! Had one problem once, rang customer service, fine-no problem with it! nice, polite and helpfull. I think some of you people are expecting to be treated like kings and queen, red carpet and gold. I would reccomend Sim to everyone. Enjoy!
i bet you work in lycamobile and your attitude towards bad customer service is shocking.
i bet you work in lebara hahahhahaha
no acually i am a customer, i read few reviews and left my one. if you like it-follow but if you dont like it then its your problem.
Poor service from the Indian call centre staff who are programmed to be obstructive. Sales reps do not give the correct info when they sell the sim card. Be careful !!!
Has anyone tried Globalcell mobile?
https://www.globalcell.eu
iv just called thailan from the uk and i can hear them but thay cant me so i contact lyca to ask them to fix this thay tell in 24hrs it will be done tbc
I have had the experience ever with Lycamobile this evening. I spent 30 minutes on th phone, transfered 4 times and spoke to the most rude 'customer service advisors ever'. I was trying to get to the bottom of fraudulent transactions from Lycamobile. They did not even know what I was talking about!
could you give me a free lymobile
I will top up it
19lancaster road ub54tb please could you send it to my house the lymobile sim and i gave you the adress
Lycamobile is a disgrace to MVNO industry. I was attracted by their promos and got myself and my wife a sim each last year. At first they tried to offer value for money promos, then later silently pulling the promo and even the non-promo items out and their customers end up paying even more. One best example is when they introduced the Lycamobile PLUS sim. They tried to convince the old Lycamobile sim users to move to PLUS sim because of cheaper airtime rate (non-promo item). Old Lycamobile sim call rate to Philippines mobile was 13p/min and the a few months ago the PLUS sim rate to the same country was only 10p/min (and this was not a promo offer). After a few months, they increased the PLUS sim rate to 13p/min without any notification. Goof thing is…I regularly visit and check their website and that's where I found out. Now that they think they've got the most subscribers as MVNO company, they tried to pull out little by little the offers and the customers end up paying more than the Lebara, Nomi, O2 My Country PAYG, and Vectone mobile. I won't trust these liars again. Good thing is…there are competitions in MVNO industry and one can easily change network with cheap (most are free actually) PAYG sims.
Also, there were many times when my wife and I could not contact each other because the network is busy. So the free Lyca to Lyca call they offer is actually useless. Also there is no more free credit offers from them making their rates the most expensive in the MVNO industry. And I agree with many comments here, their customer service line sucks and they are very rude. I can actually handle their accent but not their rudeness.
chinnappa is good yaarrr
First time user so will try it out till the money runs out, PAYG
Be careful of calling anyone with a Lyca mobile. You cannot use your free minutes to call as in my case I called from my T-mobile and was charged £10 for about a 30 minute call. When I called T-mobile they said that Lyca use an indirect number which accounts for me being charged. They then told me the Lyca prefixes as below. Yet another ripp off exposed.
Lyca prefix: 07404, 07405, 07417, 07424, 07438, 07440, 07466
Awful Customer Service, Awful charges £2.71 a min average when you call a Lyca abroad and that's just to the Lyca Sim receiver of call, awful rip off. DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY,I trusted them as Tesco Currys etc sold them, and all that above was after two weeks of trying to get my credit I paid them to work, recipients are still waiting on the many text's I have sent them that's advertised at 50p each. Will need to see what actual cost will be when they finally receive the texts, stick with what you have already, the free and 1p prices quoted are a huge rip off. Trading standards are looking into my claims against them.
As far as i am concerned Lycamobile provides me with cheap call rates. Good network and they offer good services, naturally all the offers will have a expiry date and information are updated on their website..currently they also provide internet service, i am happy with lyca and their customer service are quite helpful
I have been using Lycamobile for more than 5 months and i would say that lycamobile is the best in their business and the customer service is very helpful. Am happy that i have saved several pounds when compared with my previous service provider i am very satisfied with my decision to change to lycamobile and it is good to be able to check my call history and get print outs on line. I would not expect to receive a fixed price service by purchasing a prepaid SIM and I have no problem in checking their validity and stuff online. They give us all the offers and call rates on hand. If we have any issues in the call rates we can call their customer service, their network is excellent, i recommend lyca
From the day i started using Lycamobile till now i never had any issues regarding their customer services, they were not rude or worst in any point of time. They have good promotional offers to call Asian and African countries especially to the landlines so that i can keep in touch with my parents who wont use mobiles. They have updated all the informations on their website. They even provide free SIMS for UK customers who register online. I need not call up the customer service for the call history as i get my call history online using my lyca account. Even i have got free voicemail facility so that i will be updated if i miss any call.
UPDATE …. After my post ( Dudley ) on 8 May, 2011 21:29 it seems from newer posts that Lyca staff are trying to bury my post and others, my son ( on a 6 month travel break ) is now in Vietnam and we have totally gave up with Lyca ages ago even though I still have some credit left, by the way if you are stupid enough to sign up with them or just got caught in this scam like I did DO NOT tick auto top up when buying online as there is no way to cancel it with them other that contacting your bank or visa direct etc. This company needs to be closed down, trust me just go away with one of the recognised UK mobile providers and forget the rest offering candy 1p calls etc, keeping in contact with loved ones is just too important and these people just don’t care, before leaving for abroad get Skype (Free download and free to use, just google Skype ) installed on all laptops or computers of everyone ( you can also use Skype on 3 mobile network ) we have done video calls every week to keep it touch wherever they get free wifi abroad AND ITS ABSOLUTELY FREE….and very easy to set up, its fantastic to see them.
I am satisfied with Lycamobile and the service received, once had problem Lycamobile internet service and happened to call their customer service who where polite and even they gave a call back to my number and resolved the issue. Now I use 10MB free internet every day am happy with their service.
I agree that their offers change, however updates are available in their website. They have introduced home account dialing using the credit on your lycamobile you can place calls on landline with the help of a pin no provided handy. The network connections are good. Am happy with the customer services as they are helpul for any clarification regarding the network issues.
Am a lycamobile user. To get a free lycamobile sim you can call their customer service and order one or you can login through website and get one within 3 to 4 working days to your postal address . They have a good customer service. Yes, they pull their promos but they introduce a new one on behalf of the previous with a better offer.
Its of good use if you and your partner have same Lycamobile sims its free as they never charge for text messages and calls between Lyca numbers. For charges update you can call the customer service and they have clear updates for the charges on their website. I got my 10% free credit when i topped up for 10 £, am happy with their network and customer service

Hey ! have been using lycamobile plus for past 4 month,so far their network has been satisfactory. I topped up for £20 and got my full 500 free minutes and 500 texts am happy with their service, i have my own account with lycamobile and am happy that i can view my call history and can top up online through my lycamobile account.
Please be VERY careful about signing up with Lycamobile.
Their customer service is non-existent  –  you will have great difficulties in trying to find out why you cannot get the cheap calls as advertised!
can u do videocalling internationally with these sim cards?
very poor network. I live in London and if i am on the phone for more than 5 minutes it cuts down and have to call again. can definately hire some potile customer services advisors!
DOES ANYONE KNOW LYCA MOBILE HEAD OFFICE ADDRESS IN THE UK? NO..BECAUSE THEY DON’T GIVE IT TO YOU! I TRIED AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID,’ NOT ALLOWED TO GIVE THE ADDRESS’. FIND ANOTHER COMPANY….DO NOT USE THIS SCAM COMPANY.
Lyca sim cards now available in BANGALORE just dial 9886755455
