Mark Mitchinson, boss of Samsung Mobile has made it clear that Samsung will not be taking the same approach as Apple and Nokia, and is very clear where Samsung will be taking their mobile strategy over the next year.
Mitchinson, says: “Manufacturing is what we do; we see ourselves as a manufacturer first and foremost. We are working with our customers and the networks around the content and services they are developing. I’m not saying other manufacturers are forcing into this market; they have made their stance very clear, that they need to be in services, and we do too, just in a slightly different way.”
Which means Samsung will not enter into the battle to corner the market for mobile content and services, and will continue making mobile handsets uppermost, although handsets open to delivering a network’s services.
