The BlackBerry Bold is somewhat of a break with the BlackBerry tradition, but really Research In Motion didn’t have much choice but to come out with something totally fresh with the BlackBerry range.
Research In Motion has come under attack for the other big names in the mobile arena such as Nokia, Samsung Apple and Motorola, which in essence has force RIM to bring out better handsets.
Blackberry holds a powerful reputation as the business phone, but smartphones like the Apple iPhone have been encroaching on that market.
RIM’s vice president for Asia-Pacific region, Gregory Wade, says: “Today, BlackBerry has 16 million users all over the world.” Now RIM is working hard to increase that number.
