Will the BlackBerry Storm smash 1.5 million pre-ordered G1 Android phone?
Now here is a question for you, “Will the BlackBerry Storm smash 1.5 million pre-ordered G1 Android phone?
The two main phones of this year has to be of course the RIM BlackBerry Storm 9500 and the G1 Android phone, now the upcoming G1 in our eyes is definitely not the best looking phone in the world and we would not put it in the eye candy section, whereas the BlackBerry Storm is a hot looking phone. Obviously it has to all be down to the specs and what each phone is capable of doing. The latest news has it that the T-Mobile G1 Android phone is selling like hotcakes and in fact 1.5 million have been pre-ordered.
HTC and T-Mobile believe that they can sell a staggering 700,000 G1 Android phones by the end of 2008, this number was an optimistic number but indeed a number that got smashed, T-Mobile apparently sold out of its 500,000-unit batch within days so thought they should triple it to a staggering 1.5 million units, and that amount has been pre-ordered.
This phone has exceeded the Apple iPhone 3G first day sales, another important question we need to put forward is “Can they deliver that many phones on the day of launch? The G1 will begin shipping on October 22 for $179 on a 2-year contract.
