A Japanese game maker has teamed with Japan’s leading mobile phone carrier NTT DoCoMo, to enable mobile phone users to be able to play an orchestra with their fingertips. The “Chokkan Classic” software, which was created by game manufacturer Taito for NTT DoCoMo i-mode internet service allows the user to chose their instruments and then play a melody.
This is achieved by the user rubbing or waving their finger in front of the mobile phones infrared sensor, and the same sensor can be used to sync several users’ mobile phones to formulate a myriad of sounds just like an orchestra.
Apparently, a Taito perfomer known as “Tricky” actually directed a complete performanceof Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” at the annual Tokyo Game Show to an audience on baffled onlooker.
