There has been a new top-level appointment at AT&T, with AT&T’s president of National Distribution for AT&T Mobility, Glenn Lurie, now being moved to the position of heading up AT&T’s new initiative which aims to bring wireless capabilities to emerging wireless devices other than the “normal” mobile phone.
Glenn Lurie, as president of AT&T Emerging Devices, National Distribution and Resale, will head AT&T’s initiative to bring wireless connectivity to such devices as “personal computers, mobile Internet devices or mini computers, in-car entertainment and navigation systems, cameras and machine-to-machine communications solutions.”
This new AT&T organisation is to be a key component to forward their wireless penetration and to develop new distribution models and build on their work with enterprise customers.
