Kyocera works on developing new Android platform products
As the Google Android T-Mobile G1 is now available more and more developers are letting the media know they intend to work on Android powered devices. Reports are now showing up that Kyocera has now jumped aboard the Android ship.
Kyocera Wireless has officially announced they have begun work on a new product that incorporates the Google Android platform, and is working in conjunction with Wind River, a device optimisation software specialist.
Vice president and general manager of the Consumer Products Group at Kyocera, Dave Carey, said in a statement: “Our goal is to make Kyocera the leader in Android integration among CDMA device manufacturers in the markets we serve.”
Android, without doubt will hit the mobile world hard competing with the likes of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile. Android now brings a new option to mobile phone manufacturers that will no doubt add pressure to Microsoft’s domination of the smartphone arena.
