How different is the Android Market in UK and USA?
Did you realise that the Google Android Market isn’t universal? Apparently the Android Marker is actually region specific, good of Google to let everyone know at the outset isn’t it?
Take for instance as a case in point the Vote 2008 application is not available in the United Kingdom, well obviously it’s the American presidential election and those in the UK have no need of it, but it does raise the point of the Android Market being region specific.
On the only side of the coin is an app that shows the status of the London Tube network, obviously of no use to Americans, so I’m guessing that app isn’t available over their either. It does however raise the question of who decides which region gets what app, and could this mean that America may see better apps than the UK?

I am in the US and have the G1. The itube status app is available in the US. This may be available because an American can visit london and use it. Someone from the UK can visit the US but can’t vote. Or the other option is that everything shows up in the Market in the US. But not everywhere else like the voting app.
This is genuinely frustrating. There seems to be quite alot of apps that seem to be US only. Wouldn’t mind putting a list together of what available and comparing… 🙁
This is stupid as there is a brill Phonebook app out there but not available to the UK ????
