Apple iPhone Vs RIM BlackBerry: JD Power Smartphone Survey
Apple iPhone won top place in advanced mobile phones for business users – giving the iPhone a clear lead in front of Research in Motions (RIM) BlackBerry according to a report out on Thursday from market researcher J.D. Power and Associates.
Even though the release of Apple’s iPhone last year was a phenomenon in smartphones, when Apple introduced the updated version the iPhone 3G in July with added business functions it lured many more customers away from the much loved BlackBerry.
With sales of the iPhone reaching 6.89 million last quarter it beat Research in Motion In selling just 6.1 million BlackBerry smartphones in the same quarter.
When J.D, asked business users to rate both the iPhone and the BlackBerry on its features and design, the BlackBerry scored 703 points out of 1,000 whereas the iPhone scored 778.
When J.D. Power asked 1,388 wireless business users what they thought were the top three reasons for choosing a smartphone they chose these three reasons: design and style, e-mail and Internet Capability.
