One of China’s biggest telecommunications firms, Huawei, along with one of the newest members to join the Symbian Foundation have announced their plans to produce smartphones based on the Google Android and Symbian platforms.
The word is the first Symbian and Android Huawei mobile phones will probably launch sometime in the first half of next year and are to be sold only by major operators, and minus any Huawei branding.
Other than that, that’s all we know, no whisper on design, price, or features for the new smartphones, but Huawei has to date only one smartphone to their name, and it is based on the Windows Mobile platform, so Huawei is sort of a newbie to the smartphone arena.
