The world is apparently experiencing a “credit crunch”, an economic downturn and it is expected to hit the mobile phone arena next year, and more and more analysts and predicting a slump in the mobile market for the first time since the 2001 crash.

8 out of 22 analysts predict a three percent growth in Q4 and in 09 rather than the ten percent seen in previous years. A previous poll a couple of months ago resulted in only 1 analyst out of 23 saying sales would fall in 09.

Mobile phone manufacturers have been preparing themselves for the predicted market slowdown over the past few months and are avoiding building up large inventory, and some distributors are also shying away from holding large mobile phone inventories.

Personally, as long as growth goes up and doesn’t drop down I’d say you’re onto a good thing; maybe you don’t make as much profit, but any profit is better than loss. So the question is…
