If you are following the iPhone Dev Team in trying to find a solution to unlock your Apple iPhone 3G then soon to be released is the jailbreak 2.2 OS, but hold fire if you were about to download the new iPhone 2.2 firmware update as if you do that now you could block your iPhone 3G in ever getting unlocked.
The iPhone Dev team have said that they can now run unsigned code in the background through the 3G baseband, plus they are able to downgrade the 01.45 baseband to older version, not forgetting they can now work with the baseband in several ways, all this mounts to the probability that a software based unlock solution is about to be discovered.
But one thing the Dev iPhone team have said is clearly warning iPhone 3G users not to upgrade to the iPhone 2.2 update, due to the fact it could risk flashing a newer baseband firmware, this could stop any chance of implementing any software-based unlock solution.
