It appears there has been some sort of confusion with the BlackBerry Storm 9530’s operating system on Verizon Wireless. The problem is, was it Research In Motion who messed up or was it Verizon? Apparently Verizon blames RIM and visa versa, so what is the problem?
Well the word is the Verizon BlackBerry Storm was supposed to launch with an OS higher than 4.7.0.65, but the boxes handed out at a Verizon media even had stickers stating 4.7.0.82 OS when in reality they were loaded with .65 OS.
The reason was just before the BlackBerry Storm was to mass ship a glitch in the OS was located which prompted a halt on shipment, hence the shortages at Verizon stores. The planned date for the revised OS is December 5th, but we are even hearing this date is now being pushed back to possibly the 15th.
