Mobile phone internet usage on rise in UK
Analyst Company Nielsen Online has found that the number of people using the internet in the United Kingdom is on the rise. According to figures, some 7.3 million people have accessed the internet via their mobile phone during the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 08.
A senior analyst with Nielsen Online, Kent Ferguson, said: “This highlights the advantage of mobile when it comes to immediacy: people often need fast, instant access to weather or sports news and mobile can obviously satisfy this.”
This marks an increase of 25 percent as compared to a 3 percent growth for PC net usage which is now more than 35 million. Furthermore it has shown that the mobile internet audience is younger and searches for different things.
