Nokia has unveiled a new flagship touch-screen smartphone, the Nokia N97, which Nokia hopes will infuse new life into their N-series range of multimedia orientated mobile phones.
Vice president of Nokia’s Devices unit, Jonas Geust, says: “This is really the start of the new N-series … really kicking off the next wave. What would there be these days without touch … Touch for this category of devices is going to be important. Qwerty is also going to be important.”
The new Nokia N-series N97 is targeted at rivalling the likes of the HTC Touch Pro and the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, and is expected to retail for around the same price point as the Nokia N95 and N96 and is planned to reach the public in June of 2009.
