Novatel has shown off their new EV-DO ExpressCard, a sexy little metallic thing known as the “MiFi”, a mobile 3G hotspot for receiving high speed data to your mobile handset and your friend’s mobile handset whist on the go.
The “MiFi” routs the user’s choice of EV-DO Rev.A or HSPA over WiFi, and is roughly the size of a standard credit card with an internal battery that apparently offers up 4 hours of usage and 40 hours of standby via a single charge.
The word is the “MiFi” is scheduled to launch sometime during the first half of 09 and its estimated price is around $200.00 via retail channels and carriers.
