CES happens in January 09, and the word is as we know, Palm intend to bring something “new” to CES in the hopes of competing with the likes of BlackBerry and the mobile world dominated Apple iPhone. The “new” just happens to be Palm’s Nova, a brand new mobile phone operating system.
Palm’s intention with the Nova OS, to bridge the space between the predominantly serious BlackBerry handset and the more fun side of the Apple iPhone. Ed Colligan, Palm CEO reckons Palm is looking at that “fat middle of the market.”
Palm Nova is expected to be able to run on a number of consumer devices, but at the moment Palm is keeping tight lipped, so it’s a case of wait and see at CES. But does Palm really think Nova can compete with the BlackBerry, probably, but can it compete against the might of the Apple iPhone and come out anywhere close, who knows, anything is possible I guess.
